The annual Forum is a three-day meeting that brings together a very international group of people (from chief executives and government officials to health care managers and clinicians) who share a concern and a passion for improving quality and safety in healthcare. This year's Forum in Berlin, for example, brought together 2,000 attendees from over 60 countries to take part in sessions that ranged from the basic disciplines of quality improvement to the latest thinking in how to improve quality and safety.
Our job was to broadcast the event to 3 separate venues in the UK live. Each venue also had a particular allocated time in which the room could interact with the presenters in Berlin. I was responsible for the portal build and event planning, testing and pre-conference technical support to ensure that the venues would be able to see the broadcast live without technical hitches on the day.
